Hi everyone. In an earlier blogpost I mentioned that after listening to everyone’s comments on how we released the numerous items of DLC for Agarest: Generations of War, we were going to be handling the DLC for Agarest Zero slightly differently.
So, rather than release each item of DLC individually (and there are an overwhelming 24 of them not to mention the free DLC) we’re going to be grouping items of DLC together into bundles and releasing each bundle in the weeks following the game’s launch. And what’s more, while I don’t have prices yet, I’ve heard that these bundles will all be discounted when compared to the individual console DLC prices to reflect the fact that you won’t be able to buy them individually. The bundles are as follows:
Bundle 1 Daily Extension Pack
Formidable Pack
Extra Points Pack 3
Bundle 2 Chaotic War Pack
The L Family Pack
Extra Points Pack 4
Bundle 3 Tomorrow's Hero Pack
Schie's Bargain Pack
Extra TP Pack
Bundle 4 Halcyon Days Pack
Supreme Weapon Pack
Extra PP Pack 1
Bundle 5 Prosaic Bonus Pack
Apostle of Wind Pack
Extra PP Pack 2
Bundle 6 Extra Costumes 1
Extra Costumes 2
Bundle 7 New Forbidden Book 1
New Forbidden Book 2
New Forbidden Book 3
Bundle 8 Unlock Gallery
Unlock Voices
Unlock Expressions
Unlock Movie Gallery
As I mentioned above, we will also be providing the following console DLC items free with the game from launch:
Zero Starter Pack, A Deputy's Gift Pack, Upgrade Pack 1, Healing Hand Pack, Upgrade Pack 2, Health and Guard Pack, Legendary Items Pack, Dream Prophecy Pack, Logistic Support 1, Fall from Grace Pack, Stout Defense Pack 1, Squalid Chicken Pack, Nobility Pack, Loral Beast Pack, Stout Defense Pack 2, Extra Points Pack 1, Extra Points Pack 2, Add-on Dungeon 1 & Add-on Dungeon 2.
Also, due to popular request, we’ve added a new feature in the menu which allows you to import and enable DLC in any save game whenever you like. Previously if you purchased DLC after starting a saved game, the DLC would automatically be imported to that save. I know that many of you weren’t happy with the original system so hopefully this new addition will put a smile on your faces :)
So what do you think? We’re still interested in hearing your feedback on our plans for the DLC so please feel free to share your comments.
Moving on from Agarest Zero DLC I’m pleased to be able to say that the team over at Laughing Jackal managed to tear themselves away from Agarest Zero and their latest Vita project, Flame Over, to implement a frequently requested feature. The Beta testers will know that this feature was added to Agarest Zero quite recently. That’s right, as of yesterday, Cloud Saving has now come to Agarest: Generations Of War! Now you can be anywhere and still be playing Agarest. Enjoy :)
I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

Hi everyone. We’ve had another busy couple of weeks here at Ghostlight, where - with the help of our dedicated team of beta testers - we’ve been hard at work on Agarest Zero, tracking down and squashing bugs over on the beta forum. We really appreciate all the help the team have given us. Without them, a small company like ours would struggle to perform all the compatibility testing which a large PC game like Agarest requires.
It’s not just fixing bugs either, as they’ve not been shy about letting us know about other potential improvements that could be made to the game. In recent weeks we’ve improved the mouse controls, changed the text colour to make it easier to read and even added cloud saving (yes, cloud saving will be implemented in Agarest Zero! :)) following prompting from the forum. All of the feedback really is appreciated. :)
Despite being busy with Agarest Zero we did find time to go back to revisit Agarest: Generations of War on PC. Some of you may have experienced an audio glitch during movies and the title screen, which was both persistent and annoying. However, during the testing for Agarest Zero one of the users found that it could be resolved by maxing the video audio slider. After tracking down and fixing this issue in Agarest Zero based on this information, it was found that this also caused the audio glitch in the original Agarest. Happily this has allowed Laughing Jackal to patch Agarest: Generations of War and finally rid the game of this problem.
In other news I’ve now managed to play through to the true end of Agarest Zero myself and while there are still bugs that need fixing it does seem to be coming along very nicely. Should all go to plan we’re currently expecting that pre-orders will go live on steam towards the end of March, with the game being released in April. As with Agarest itself, there will be a discount for anyone who pre-orders the game.

With the Agarest Zero beta test beginning last week we’ve been busy working with our elite team of beta testers :). Which sadly meant I wasn’t able to tear myself away from the beta forum to write a blog last week. However fear not because I have returned bringing with me the latest news from the Ghostlight offices.
Speaking of the beta test so far it seems to be going really well and I’d really like to thank all our beta testers for their help. We’ve had some really great feedback on lots of bugs and some interesting suggestions as well.
At some point down the line we’re going to be introducing a second round of beta testers, so please do keep an eye on the blog as we’ll let you all know when we will open the invites.
We’ve also been thinking a lot about how to handle the DLC from Agarest following on from all your comments. Reading through the feedback thread over on the Steam forums my impression is that the majority of people do want all the console DLC to be available to PC gamers. Having said that the general impression I have is that many people feel that there are far too many individual DLC pieces available to buy and it can be a little overwhelming. A viewpoint I can certainly sympathise with. For Agarest Zero we believe we have come up with a solution which should balance the desire to give PC gamers the same options as console gamers while not having such a large number of DLC pieces available. Currently we plan on offering a number of DLC bundles, each containing several pieces of DLC. While this is somewhat less convenient than being able to pick and choose individual items, to make up for that we have discounted the price of these bundles. We also intend to continue providing some of the console DLC free with the game itself.
The other suggestion regarding the DLC was that if you purchased it after starting a save game it would automatically be imported to that save. As many gamers pointed out that they were purchasing the DLC for a later save and didn’t necessarily want to use it in their current one we have now implemented a new menu system which allows users to choose whether they want to import the DLC into their current save. Which is nice :).
Moving on from Agarest it has been a couple of weeks since OMG Zombies! was released on Steam and together with Laughing Jackal we’ve had lots of great feedback from people who are enjoying the game. It’s also been fun to see the leaderboard fill up,even if it has meant I’ve moved down a few places. At the time of writing I sit in 5th with 222,370 zombie kills if anyone wants to try and knock me down even further :). OMG Zombies! is currently available on Steam here priced at £3.99.
