Hi everyone. I’m afraid there’s not a great deal of news for you this week.
We’re still hard at work on Agarest 2 and Elminage Gothic, which thanks to the hard work of the beta testing team (and of course Laughing Jackal) are coming along very nicely.
Speaking of the beta testing team, I thought I’d remind you all that we’re still open for applications to the Elminage Gothic closed beta. With applications closing this Sunday there’s not much time left to get your application in!
As with previous closed betas, we will not be picking people on a random or first-come-first-served basis, so please do bear that in mind. What a ‘yes’ decision actually comes down to depends on a number of factors, including how representative we feel the range of PC specs we’ve assembled for the beta is.
As we only have a limited number of places available for the beta, feel free to tell us why you think you’d be particularly suited to helping us with the testing phase of Elminage Gothic. This may include information like details of any previous experience you’ve had in beta testing, or simply declaring your undying love for the genre. In fact, please tell us anything that you feel is relevant which may help us approve your application. J
Moving on to Lucifer’s Call, which we mentioned in last week’s blog, while I don’t have much news for you it is looking quite likely that we will be able to release it on PSN very soon. As always I’ll be posting more news on here when I get it.
Finally we’re still waiting for all the paperwork to be filled in for that unannounced Steam title that I’ve been talking about recently. We’re expecting it to be ready to be announced soon. While it is a Japanese game, it is actually quite different to most of our back catalogue being more of an action game rather than a traditional JRPG.
That’s all from me. I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

Well, the first phase of the Elminage Gothic beta has been in progress for over a week now and so far I’m really happy with how it’s been going. Huge thanks go out to all the beta testers for their hard work as they’ve already found quite a few important compatibility and text issues – thanks guys! The team over at Laughing Jackal have been hard at work fixing all the reported issues and tightening up the latest version, which means we’ll soon be ready to add more people ready for phase 2 of the beta.
In phase 1, the Elminage Gothic beta was an exclusive invite-only club, however in phase 2 we’ll be opening it up to a much wider variety of applicants. To enter the Elminage Gothic closed beta all you need to do is to send an email to: beta@ghostlight.uk.com with your name, date of birth and the technical specifications of your PC.
Applications will close on the 10th August, so please make sure to get them in before then. As with previous closed betas, we will not be picking people on a random or first-come-first-served basis, so please do bear that in mind. What a ‘yes’ decision actually comes down to depends on a number of factors, including how representative we feel the range of PC specs we’ve assembled for the beta is.

In other news, I’ve recently been hearing whispers about a new PS2 Classics release on PSN. Apparently, Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call (which was fully translated in to English, French and German by the way) is currently in test with Sony. While I’m hopeful that this will mean you’ll soon be able to purchase Lucifer’s Call on PSN, it is worth bearing in mind that PS2 emulation problems can still occur at this stage of the submissions procedure, so I’m keeping everything crossed it will pass first time!
Speaking of the Shin Megami Tensei series of PS2 games, I’m also pleased and somewhat relieved to be able to tell you that SMT: Digital Devil Saga is now available on all Sony European PSN Stores. Apologies for all those who have been kept waiting :).

Hi everyone. It’s time for our last Bundle of Agarest: Generations Of War Zero DLC to go live and this one might be useful for the less patient among you. The Agarest Zero DLC Bundle #7 will allow you to unlock the Galleries, the Voices and all the Expressions, as well as give you access to the Unlock Movies Pack! All of these packs will be available for the single Bundle price of just £10.99 ($14.99) which is a massive saving compared to the usual price of £23.26 which is what it would currently cost to buy individually from PlayStation network for PS3.
The DLC Bundle #7 should be going up later today at which point it will be available from the Agarest Zero Store page here. And for the first time I’ll have the responsibility of being the one to hit the big red button to set it live :)
Moving away from Agarest Zero for a moment - as you might expect I’ve been focusing a lot of my time on Elminage Gothic (PC) for the last few days because the Steam closed beta started this week! Since this game has a lot of gameplay and hasn’t been released in English before, we’ve started the beta a bit earlier than we usually do in order to allow us enough time to catch and correct as many localisation bugs as possible. Already we have to say a huge thanks to the testers who have been working incredibly hard to find and report a lot of issues which we’re busy putting right. We’ve also received a few UI suggestions and some suggested tweaks to the game text which are all proving to be really helpful. So a big thank you goes out to all of you who are helping us with the first stage of the beta. Thanks people – you know who you are! :)
For those of you who were not invited into the first phase of the beta I’d just like to remind you that we will be opening applications in the next week or two. So please keep your eyes on the blog for more information on how to apply.
