Agarest coming to GOG later this month

Fri, 14th Nov 2014 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. Do we have any GOG users reading this?  From the amount of emails and comments asking for GOG releases of our games I suspect we do :).

If you are one of these GOG users then you’ll be pleased to know that Agarest: Generations of War will be coming to GOG.com on Thursday the 27th November.  We will be matching the Steam prices on this one so the standard edition will be available for $14.99 and a premium edition upgrade, containing an artbook, wallpapers, and soundtrack, will be available for $4.99.

At the dawn of time, a terrible war raged between the forces of good and evil, ending in the destruction of the world of Agarest. After their victory, the Gods of Light unified the decaying bodies of the Gods of Darkness and created a new world.

Now, the forces of darkness are awakening once again…

  • Choose the path of Darkness or Light through a truly epic story, spanning multiple generations
  • Battle hundreds of different creatures using an array of character abilities, in a compelling and innovative turn-based combat system
  • Build your ultimate army of warriors and master Extra Skills, Special Arts and Over Kills to defeat colossal enemies!
  • Unite with your chosen heroine and use the “Soul Breed” system to shape the fate of the next generation of heroes

In other news I’ll be visiting Hyper Japan this Saturday.  I’ll be inside Earls Court during the morning session so if you see me do feel free to say hi :).

Apologies for the lack of Way of the Samurai screenshots in this week's blog, unfortunately they were not quite ready in time. But I’ll be sure to get some to you soon.

That’s all from me.  I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? Way of the Samurai - An update on the beta

Thu, 6th Nov 2014 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. As you’ve probably already noticed, Steam’s spooky Halloween sale which featured our very own chain-reaction-shooter OMG Zombies, and dungeon crawler Elminage Gothic, has now come to an end.  It was, as is usually the case with Steam Sales, a fantastic success :)  Thank you to everyone who bought one of our games during the sale - I really do hope you enjoy it.

We’re continuing to make really good progress on the PC version of Way of the Samurai 4 with more work going into the control system this week.  We’re still ironing out a lot of compatibility issues and although going from PS3 to PC is never the easiest thing to do, our guys are doing a sterling job! Given the number of requests I’ve been receiving, I know that a lot of you are very excited at the prospect of being part of the BETA phase.  So, you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear that in the next week I’ll be inviting a limited number of you into the first phase of the closed BETA.  If you’re not chosen for this first batch, there’s no need to worry as it won’t be long before I’ll be opening the BETA to our wider GL community.

Speaking of Way of the Samurai 4, Ben has been hard at work testing the game and taking a few rather cool looking screenshots of some of his more recent playthroughs.  I don’t believe we’ve actually shown off the PC version to you yet, so next week I’ll be giving you a quick look at some of them to show you where we are with the conversion.

In other news, readers of cult entertainment magazine, Starburst, may have noticed a review of Elminage Gothic in which they awarded it a very respectable 7/10 saying “Elminage Gothic is a blast from the past that will eat your time but not your wallet as it’s a fairly sweet budget game.”  If you want to read more, then feel free to check out the full review here.

That’s all from me.  I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? A Spooky Steam Sale!

Thu, 30th Oct 2014 | Posted by Ross

The spirits that haunt the Ghostlight offices have risen from their unquiet slumber and have fiendishly taken control of our Steam pricing, placing two of our games in this weekend’s Steam Halloween Sale!

Those of you who want to venture into the terrifying caverns of Tsun-Kurn to fight back against the horrors that lurk within, will be pleased to know that Elminage Gothic will have a spine chilling discount of 60% leaving the price at a mere $3.99 (£2.79) via the games Steam Store page.

From the makers of the world renowned “Wizardry Empire” titles, Starfish SD brings you the latest entry in their popular series of dungeon crawlers.  Elminage Gothic, previously only available in Japanese on PlayStation® Portable, now comes to PC offering a classic old school dungeon crawling experience with a dark, gothic twist!

Features include:

Well over 80 hours of dungeon crawling gameplay!

Hundreds of stunning monsters, creatures and demons to defeat

    Multiple character classes

The classic and traditional “THAC0” system!

    Full Japanese to English translation

This PC conversion also features a number of improvements over the original, including:

    Higher resolution art

    Improved user interface

8 stunning Steam Trading Cards to collect!

Meanwhile if you’d prefer a little more gore in your Halloween, Laughing Jackal’s blood splattered chain reaction shooter OMG Zombies will have its price slashed by a monstrous 80% bringing it down to a blood curdling $0.99 (£0.79)!  Zombie blasting action for less than a dollar?  What are you waiting for?  Get your bloodstained hands on it via the games Steam Store Page.

OMG Zombies is an awesome reimagining of a genuine classic: the critically acclaimed OMG-Z, a top-ten all-time Metacritic rated PSP game and ranked as Metacritic’s best action title ever released on PSP!  The guys at Push Square gave it 89% and called it “a must buy” game, Escape Rope claimed it’s “...one of the best zombie games in recent memory” and Defunct Games gave it an A rating saying it’s “so addictive... I still can't get enough of watching the explosive chain reaction caused from a well-placed bullet.”

I’ve been informed that we’re expecting a visit from the exorcists at 10am Pacific time Monday 3rd November, at which point we should regain control of our Steam pricing, returning these two games to their normal prices.

Finally if you’re in the mood to dress your PS3 up for Halloween I thought I’d mention that our friends at Laughing Jackal released a spooky Halloween theme which is available on the PSN Store for £1.69 here.

I’d love to stay and tell you more about the latest ghostly goings on here at Ghostlight but unfortunately I need to help deal with a werewolf infestation in the car park. Anybody know where I put the silver bullets?

That’s all from me.  I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight?
