Agarest 2 to be released this month

Fri, 6th Feb 2015 | Posted by Daren

Great news! With the beta progressing smoothly we’re thrilled to announce that Agarest: Generations of War 2 will be released on 19th February 2015 priced at $19.99.

As an extra incentive for early birds, anyone who pre-orders the game before 19th February will get two AWESOME benefits: a 20% pre-order discount, and DLC bundle 6*absolutely free, allowing you to use Leonhardt, Valeria and Myu from the previous games and unlocking Extra Costumes for many of the cast, saving you a further $7.99!

While the game isn’t ready for pre-order yet, you can check out the Agarest 2 Steam page here

After launch we’ll be releasing the remaining Agarest 2 DLC bundles once a week.  As with the previous titles in the series, you can expect the bundled DLC to be considerably cheaper than it was when sold as individual items on PSN.

Moving on to Way of the Samurai, we’re still squashing bugs, and the game is now rather more stable than it has been up to now. With that in mind, hopefully you can expect news of an expanded beta very soon, with a release date announced the near future.

Finally, I know quite a few of you are anxious for news of the PSN release of Lucifer’s Call.  We’re still chasing SCEE for news on the submission of this game and will let you know when we hear more.

More on Agarest: Generations of War 2

Agarest: Generations of War 2 is set in a parallel world to the previous two Agarest titles and has a completely new multi generational story and universe to explore.  So while existing fans of the series will of course see some familiar features and faces popping up, newer players will not need to have played the previous games to understand and enjoy this instalment of the story.

…One day, the world was enveloped by a mysterious blinding light causing terrible destruction.  The central continent, from where the light is believed to have originated, fell silent and slowly, demons began to emerge and spread throughout the world like a plague.

Sometime afterwards, a young man by the name of Weiss, suffering from amnesia, encounters the enigmatic Eva who tells him that he has committed the sin of deicide.  In order to atone for his crime he learns that he must become the "Vessel" in which the power of the divinity he slaughtered is to be stored.  This power will be used to resurrect the one whose life Weiss stole, for those who betray the divine will pay for their sins in the space which separates salvation and damnation, as will their progeny...

  • New Agarest Universe: Roam freely and watch the story unfold in this newly designed Universe and battle colossal enemies in over 80hrs of compelling gameplay!
  • Revamped Battle System:  Engage your ultimate warriors in a new faster paced combat system with real tactical depth and a wealth of character customisation
  • HD Graphics: Enjoy the all-new environments, CGs and your favourite animated character portraits in stunning high-definition
  • Mini-games: Engage in Bathtub, Shiatsu, and Massage mini-games!
  • Soul Breeding Returns: See your favourite heroines evolve over several decades through each passing generation
  • Choose Your Path:  It’s not just the heroines you unite with but also the choices you make that will significantly change the outcome of the story.

This new version of Agarest 2 has full mouse/keyboard and gamepad support, Steam achievements, higher resolutions and a number of other user interface changes providing PC gamers with the best version of Agarest 2 to date.  Cloud Saves are also supported as are Steam trading cards, backgrounds and icons while a wealth of DLC is included in the game completely free of charge with other packs available to purchase separately following release.  Plus the new DLC system gives you control over how your downloaded content is managed, enabling you to pick and choose how it is added to your existing saves.

That’s all from me.  I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? Agarest 2 Now In Beta!

Thu, 29th Jan 2015 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  Thank you once again for all your recent applications for the Agarest 2 beta.  Since development is going so well for the game, we now feel we are able to start accepting more people into the beta testing phase.  If you have applied for the beta you should have either already received a reply informing you if you were selected, or should be receiving one in the very near future.

I should warn you though, that we have received far more applicants than we are able to include in the beta, so good luck! :)

In more good news, as we mentioned in last week’s blog, Neptunia Re;Birth1 will be released Friday 30th January on Steam by our very good friends over at Idea Factory International.  I know there are some big Neptunia fans among us here so I hope you’re all looking forward to this Steam release as much as we are! :)

Finally, following on from the Agarest 2 announcement of two weeks ago, we’ve received some enquiries over whether Way of the Samurai 4 will receive any cuts to the game content. I’ve looked into it and I’ve been reliably informed that the Way of the Samurai 4 Steam release is going to be completely uncut.  And yes this does mean that a certain hidden ‘nightcrawling’ section will still be present.

That’s all from me.  I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? Way of the Samurai 4 moved back to February

Fri, 23rd Jan 2015 | Posted by Ross

Hello one and all!  Ignoring the title of this blog for just a moment, I’d firstly like to thank you for all your applications to join the Agarest: Generations of War 2 Beta.  There are certainly a lot of requests for us to go through, but with the applications period now closed we’re aiming to get back to you all by early next week.

As I mentioned in last week’s blog, we’ve already had an elite, handpicked team of beta testers looking at the game and they have been doing an epic job - thanks guys!  So far it seems to be going pretty smoothly, so long may this continue :).

Now moving on to Way of the Samurai 4 and I’m afraid to have to inform you all that the game will not be ready for a January release as we had previously planned.  This is due to a number of complex technical issues that we‘ve encountered during the last stages of the porting process, slowing our progress on the game quite considerably.  On the positive side, we’re slowly but surely winning the battle-against-the-bugs but it does mean that we’re now currently aiming to release the game in February.  I don’t have an exact release date yet, but I’ll try to get more details on that for you all very soon.

In other news, some of you may be aware that our very good friends over at Idea Factory International have announced that they will soon be releasing Neptunia Re;Birth1 on Steam. So keep an eye out for more news on IFI’s website.

Finally, some of you may recall me mentioning our sister developer Laughing Jackal’s, upcoming firefighting action roguelike, Flame Over, on this blog.  The game will be coming soon to PS Vita and if any of you are interested in seeing the game in action, head over to the European PlayStation blog as they posted the first gameplay video there yesterday.  While I might be a bit biased, I must say that it’s looking brilliant! :)  If you’d like to check it out you can see more details here.

That’s all from me.  I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.
