I’m absolutely delighted to say that after a very long wait, we are expecting the mighty Shin Megami Tensei : Lucifer’s Call (Nocturne in North America) to be released next week as a PS2 Classic on PSN! This is a truly excellent game from Atlus’ hugely respected SMT series and has a stomping Metacritic rating of 82% over 42 reviews! It will be priced at just £6.49/€7.99.
If you follow our Twitter account you may have noticed that the game was briefly available on the PSN Store, this was due to an error and it has now been removed from the PSN Store until next week.
Set in post-apocalyptic Tokyo, the entire population of the world is annihilated by a global catastrophe called the Conception. Now, the fate of the entire world lies on the shoulders of one young man, who must battle his way through opposing demonic forces to bring order to the world to come…
…or possibly become the harbinger of it destruction.
- Over 50 hours of gameplay with alternate endings!
- Customize your character with Magatama, living parasites that grant the host demonic powers!
- Persuade over 100 different demons to join your party. Evolve or fuse them to form even more powerful ones.
- Featuring Dante from Capcom’s Devil May Cry 2TM.
In other exciting news, I’m very happy to be able to tell you that Agarest: Generations of War Premium Edition, will be in this week’s Humble Weekly Bundle RPG Edition Book II, available to anyone who pays just $8.00 or more. The Premium Edition is usually $19.99 so that’s a massive saving of $11.99 right there! But don’t forget that your $8.00 will actually net you $87.00 of RPG goodness including Fate: Hero Bundle, Paper Sorcerer, bit Dungeon II, Pier Solar and the Great Architects, Sanctuary RPG: Black Edition and Atlus’ Rollers of the Realm. I may not be great with numbers, but that’s an absolutely amazing bargain for any RPG fans out there. :)
Finally, we were also able to announce yesterday that we will be releasing Flame Over, Laughing Jackal’s brilliant firefighting, action roguelike on the 28th May. If you pre-purchase the game you’ll get a massive 40% discount off the usual price of $11.99. So, go check out yesterday’s blog for more details. Flame Over looks stunning and is both rock hard and a hell of a lot of fun, so while I might be a bit biased on this one, I’d definitely recommend you check out the games Steam Store page. :)
That’s all from me. I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? Hi everyone. If you’ve been looking forward to Laughing Jackal’s amazing firefighting action roguelike, Flame Over, I’m delighted to be able to tell you that it will be coming to Steam on the 28th May priced at $11.99. Not only that but anyone who pre-orders the game from when the pre-order period starts on the 14th May until the game’s release on the 28th will get a massive 40% discount. That results in a bargain price of $7.19.
Since the launch of the Vita version of Flame Over, and after reading all the great feedback on it, the LJ team has been hard at work improving the game, and has added the following new features:
- Keyboard & Mouse support (of course! :))
- Control mapping
- You can now find Blaze’s ghost on the level he died, allowing you to regain cash and powerups.
- A host of secrets, rare rooms & easter eggs, to ensure that no play through is the same.
- A handy Fire Drill & Tutorial system, so it doesn’t seem like you’ve been dropped into a burning building. :)
We’ve also reworked the wall of fire hazard, which will now set light to everything in its path and – mercifully – won’t instakill NPCs.
Flame Over is a fire fighting action game with randomly generated levels, blending Twin Stick Shooter and Roguelike design principles.
A Real Fire Fighting Experience
Flame Over features a dynamic fire system that burns and spreads according to the materials found in each randomly generated level. Watch fires spread according to the materials available, attacking your fire fighter and generating dangerous hazards across 4 game zones.
An Ever-Changing Race Against Time
Guide fire fighting hero, Blaze Carruthers, in a struggle against the clock and near-certain death! Fight through all 16 floors of the Infernal Industries building, combating ferocious fires in a red-hot adventure that changes every time!
Become A Fire Fighting Hero
Rescue people and cats from a fiery end. Lead them to safety to earn extra time, health and persistent upgrades. Only Blaze Carruthers can save the day!
Earn Upgrades, Buy Powerups, SURVIVE!
Complete side missions to earn persistent upgrades that increase your odds. Use coins collected while you play to buy in-game powerups. Compete with other fire fighters worldwide across Score and Time Leaderboards.
Since its release on PS Vita Flame Over has been getting some great review scores including:

“Flame Over seems too hot to handle at first, but it's worth every hour you invest into it” - 8/10

I don’t often tell you not to buy one of our games, but I’m going to recommend that you don’t purchase Elminage Gothic on Steam until Monday evening. That’s because on Monday Elminage Gothic will be entering the Steam Weeklong Deals, with a massive 70% discount off its standard price of £6.99. As the name suggests, this discount will be live from the 4th to the 11th of May, so be sure to visit the Eminage Gothic Steam Store page to take advantage of this great deal.
From the makers of the world renowned “Wizardry Empire” titles, Starfish SD brings you the latest entry in their popular series of dungeon crawlers. Elminage Gothic, previously only available in Japanese on PlayStation® Portable, now comes to PC offering a classic old school dungeon crawling experience with a dark, gothic twist!
Features include:
- Well over 80 hours of dungeon crawling gameplay!
- Hundreds of stunning monsters, creatures and demons to defeat
- Multiple character classes
- The classic and traditional “THAC0” system!
- Full Japanese to English translation
Moving on to other topics, I’ve been reminded that we haven’t spoken about Way of the Samurai 4 much on here recently. While I am sorry to say that we still don’t have a definite release date, we are making really good headway and slashing our way through those bugs that are preventing that all-important release. I will, of course, let you know when I have more news.
Finally the Flame Over beta is now underway, and our friends at Laughing Jackal are hard at work looking at all the issues that have been raised by the beta testers. By the end of last week everyone who applied for the beta should have received an email, so if you didn’t, please get in touch to let us know.
I’ve been told that the Steam version of Flame Over is coming along very nicely and that the PS4 version isn’t far behind. I will have more information on Laughing Jackal’s firefighting action roguelike very soon. :)
