Hi everyone. I hope you’ve all been enjoying the Steam release of Mugen Souls! :)
Before I get on to the subject of DLC for Mugen Souls, I thought I should quickly point out that if, for some reason, you’ve been waiting to pick up the game, then please be aware that the 40% launch discount will expire tomorrow evening (GMT), meaning that the price of the game will rise from $11.99 (£8.99) to $19.99 (£14.99). So go and grab it now!
Ok, now on to this week’s news! :) Tomorrow we will be releasing the Mugen Souls DLC onto the Steam Store. As with our Agarest releases, we will be packing individual DLC items into bargain bundles, which will be available for significantly less than on the PSN Store. In addition to this, all DLC bundles will have an amazing 40% discount during their first week on sale which means you can make some great savings. The details of each DLC bundle are:

I’m delighted to be able to tell you that the wait is finally over! :) As some of you have already spotted, Mugen Souls has been released on Steam today and is priced at just $19.99 (£14.99). However, if you grab a copy over the next week, you can take advantage of a massive 40% discount reducing the price to an irresistible $11.99 (£8.99)! The discount expires on the 29th October, so if you’re ready to take on Chou-Chou the undisputed Goddess of Mugen Souls, then you’d better make sure you hurry on over to the Mugen Souls Steam Store page now! :)
Mugen Souls already features a massive amount of free DLC that comes with the game from the outset, but there will also be a healthy selection of DLC packs with loads of goodies for the game made available from the 29th October. In addition to having a much lower standard price than the console DLC, the Steam DLC packs will have their price discounted by 40% on their first week of sale. So, keep your eye on the blog for details of these bargain packs in the coming week.

Finally, apologies to our Japanese fans, as while Mugen Souls is currently visible on the Japanese Steam Store Page, it is not currently available. This is because, at the time of writing, we do not have the rights to release the game in Japan.

The big day has nearly arrived, and Mugen Souls will be released tomorrow on Steam, priced at just $19.99 with an amazing 40% launch discount. The launch discount will expire on the 29th October so make sure you hurry to the Mugen Souls Steam Store page to take advantage of this great deal, before it expires.
The DLC will be launched on the 29th October and will, like the game itself, come with a 40% discount lasting until the 5th November. We will also be including 30 items of DLC free with the game and you can find the full list in the previous blog post.
Since some of you have asked about the technical aspects of the port, I thought I’d let you know that the game is running at a smooth 60fps on my machine and I’m experiencing much reduced loading times from the console version although of course actual performance will vary depending on your set up.
In terms of gameplay I can say that the team here have been really enjoying it. The combat is faster and far more fluid than the Agarest series while still being turn-based and the wide array of mechanics do give you a lot of flexibility in how you approach battles. Whether you’re charming enemies into becoming your Peons using Chou-Chou’s different personality types, or blasting them into the air to create a Frenzy combo (earning a fortune at the same time), there are stacks of options available to you at all times. I’m also personally really enjoying the game’s sense of humour which is pretty unique! :) The wordplay and character interactions are often really funny and the game isn’t afraid to break the 4th wall in order to make a joke or two.
Regarding the much discussed issue of censorship in Mugen Souls, I just wanted to let you all know that we did ask Steam directly if we could ship the uncensored Japanese version of the game via their service and they told us, unfortunately, that we wouldn’t be able to do so. For that reason, we decided to convert and release the US/European PlayStation 3 port of the game which has the bathhouse mini-games removed.
