Cubxx HD is out Now!

Thu, 28th Jan 2016 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. I’m delighted to be able to tell you that the fantastic, fast paced arcade puzzler Cubixx HD is out now. Priced at $8.99 with an amazing 35% off during the launch period. So hurry  over to the Cubixx HD Steam Store page to pick it up.

Cubixx HD was one of Laughing Jackal’s 1st non PlayStation mini titles, and we were all very proud of it. Looking back at it now it’s really surprised how well it’s held up beyond the level of simple nostalgia. I’ve really enjoyed my time playing it again, and it really nails that one more go feel.

While I might be a bit biased, it wasn’t just me who thought Cubixx HD was a winner, with Official PlayStation Magazine UK calling it: “One of the most gloriously addictive, knuckle-bitingly frustrating experiences you can have on PSN.”  Eurogamer also gave it an 8/10, calling it: “Murderously addictive.” The Sixthaxis also awarded Cubixx HD with an 8/10, saying it: “Hovers on the cusp of absolute, delightful joy.”

Think you're ready to take on the Cube? Grab a Cubot and fire your laser across 50 Arcade levels to see if you have what it takes to unlock the secrets within. To succeed you will need to evade and annihilate deadly enemies - using your lightning fast reflexes to the fullest! This is a journey where only the best will survive!

Cubixx HD is a fast paced action puzzle game which sends high scoring, combo chasing game play to the third dimension!

Play through the epic 50 level Arcade mode, test your skills to the limit with 50 Challenges or take on the world in over 150 online leaderboards! If all that isn't enough you can join forces with friends in the 7 player local Co-op or destroy each other in the 7 player Deathmatch.

Cubixx HD coming to Steam on the 28th January

Mon, 25th Jan 2016 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.

We’ve got lots of news for you in this week’s Ghostlight blog. First of all I’m pleased to announce that we’ll be bringing Laughing Jackal’s Cubixx HD to Steam on the 28th January, priced at $8.99 with a 35% launch discount.

Cubixx HD was Laughing Jackal’s first non-mini development and is a particular favourite of mine, with compulsive score chasing in single player mode, and an intense local multiplayer mode for good measure. :)The game is incredibly good fun both in co-op and versus, so be sure to check that out if you can.

In other news, many of our Steam titles have been discounted as part of the Humble Store Winter Sale. With discounts of up to 80% you should check out our games on the Humble store if you were thinking of picking up any of our games on Steam.

Ghostlight in 2016

Thu, 14th Jan 2016 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year, and that the end of the holiday hasn’t been too much of a shock to the system. :)

Now that we’re in the future, or 2016 as some people call it, I thought I’d talk a little about what you can expect from Ghostlight in the early part of this shiny new year.

First of all, we should soon be ready to announce a Steam release date for Laughing Jackal’s brilliant arcade puzzler Cubixx HD. I’ve been playing quite a bit of the Steam version of Cubixx HD recently, I even ended up showing it to my little cousin over the Christmas holiday, and I’d forgotten how enjoyable it was. :) If you have any interest in score chasing, then Cubixx HD can offer you an awful lot of fun!

Also, coming up early this year we will be announcing another JRPG for Steam as well as the Japanese action game that we’ve been talking about in recent weeks. We’ve had a lot of requests to bring this particular title to Steam so I’m sure that a lot of you will be happy to hear about its upcoming Steam release.

Beyond that, we’re also deep in negotiations for quite a few new Japanese titles, primarily to port to PC, and while at this point it’s too early to disclose any details, let me just say that there are quite a few games among them that are really exciting me! Not only are we looking at a few games from a Japanese developer that I’ve been wanting to work with for a long time, but I’ve also been evaluating a Japanese game which - as far as I’m aware - hasn’t even been announced for Japan yet. Exciting!

Thank you, once again, for your support throughout 2015. I hope you all have a great 2016.

That’s all from me.  I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight?
