Hi everyone!
Well, it’s been an extremely busy couple of weeks here at Ghostlight! Amongst all the projects that we’re currently working on, we’ve been particularly hard at work on a console-to-PC port for another publisher. The good news is that we’ve just reached a hugely significant milestone this week thanks to some serious effort from the team here, so a big “well done” goes out to the guys – you know who you are :) Al’s already finished this particular game a few times, so I think it’s safe to say that he’s rapidly becoming quite an expert on it.
In other news, I’m happy to report that we’re getting ever closer to signing some new games for PC. As usual, I’m afraid that I can’t say much more at this stage so please keep your eyes on the blog for some exciting updates in the coming weeks. What I can say is that both Al and I have been converted into huge fans of the games we’ve been evaluating and we think we might have a couple of surprises up our sleeves for you all. You know, it can be a hard job having to play through all these games, but someone has to do it! :)
Lastly, I was recently interviewed by The OASG as part of their Justin Lab report, so if you want to hear me talk about anime, video games and my time working at Ghostlight, then you can check out the full interview here.
That’s all for now. I’ll be back next week with more news from Ghostlight, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

Hi everyone. While the Humble End of Summer Sale has finished, I do have some good news for any of you who missed out, as - after speaking to the team at Humble - we’ve agreed to extend the sale on Way of the Samurai 4 for another 4 days, as part of the Humble End of Summer Sale Encore. That means you’ll be able to pick up this fantastic game for just half price (£9.49) until Monday 26th September.
And since this is the Humble store, not only will you be getting a Steam Key but you can now choose what to do with half of your 10% charity contribution. You can give that 5% to the charity of your choice or keep the equivalent value as a cashback reward, which can be spent on future purchases during or after the sale.
Way of the Samurai 4 takes place in the humble port town of Amihama during the mid 19th Century, several years after the arrival of the “black ships” from the West ended Japan’s long history of cultural isolation. Amihama’s downtown area has slowly been converted to a “Little Britain,” complete with European-styled buildings, occupied by an influx of adventurous foreign settlers. Not everyone welcomes these new residents though, and three distinct factions with opposing ideals begin to take shape.
You must take on the role of a masterless samurai looking to establish yourself in this conflicted land of opportunity and uncertainty. It is up to you to decide which faction to support in an almighty conflict amongst the region’s three powers, and so direct the course of Japan’s history.
Will you aid the pro-government Shogunate in their attempts to keep the peace and establish cordial relations with the foreign contingent?
Will you help the nationalistic isolationists in their attempts to exile this potential threat to the Japanese way of life?
Or will you ally with the foreigners directed by the British Navy in their attempts to establish silk trade and foster cultural exchange?
Who will you support? Who will you betray? Become the ultimate bastion of virtue or the ultimate disgrace to humanity, and do it however you'd like. The choice is entirely your own...
That’s all for now. Hi everyone.
In the last couple of weeks we’ve been busy looking at new games to pick up. We’ve got a shortlist of games we’re interested in and we’ve even received a few evaluation copies to look at. We’ve also been hard at work on a PC port for another publisher, which is keeping us busy. :)
Meanwhile, as I reported in last week’s blog post, all of our games on the Humble Store are currently discounted as part of the Humble End of Summer Sale. With discounts ranging from 50% to 80%, this is one sale you’re not going to want to miss out on.
In other news, last week I was interviewed by Youtuber JayRPGee about the process of porting games and how we select games to pick up. To hear me talk about this and much more, why not check out the full interview? :)
And finally (and this is something I *never* thought I’d have the chance to write! :)) Flame Over super-fan, Tom, who goes by IBringTheFunk on Twitter, has just sent me a picture of his brand new tattoo featuring Blaze from our firefighting action roguelike, Flame Over.
It’s always fantastic to hear how much a game you’ve worked on means to someone, so I’d like to extend a massive thank you to Tom for sending me this image and allowing me to share it. :)
That’s all for now.
