My trip to Japan!

Sat, 7th Oct 2017 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. I'm now back in the UK after my trip to Japan and as I promised before I left, I will have news for you on the Japanese audio in Omega Quintet very soon indeed.

I had a fantastic time in Japan, both on my own, and after I joined my Inside Japan tour. Inside Japan were very helpful and I'd definitely recommend them if you've never been to Japan before and feel you might need some help. The tour itself was excellent and their staff were very helpful before I went.

Tokyo itself was incredible, I stayed in Askusa which was very pretty.

And I also really enjoyed exploring Akihabara where I ate at the Gundam Cafe, and visiting the Edo Tokyo Museum was another highlight in Tokyo. Although there is just so much going on in Tokyo that even after 6 nights I feel I barely scratched the surface of this amazing city.

Another city I barely scratched the surface of was Kyoto, which was very different to Tokyo, but no less interesting. Kyoto station itself is both unbelievably massive and very modern, but once you got away from it, the old parts of Kyoto were very pretty. In addition to seeing temples and shrines such as the Inari Shrine.

In Kyoto in exchange for agreeing to be filmed by the Japan National Tourist Organisation, the group was entertained by a maiko for an hour. I also found time to visit Uji & Nara which were both fascinating. In addition to all the famous sites, it was a lot of fun seeing the incredibly tame deer in Nara.

Even outside the main cities Japan was a lot of fun. In Sendai I really enjoyed visiting the castle, where I also saw a very impressive statue of Date Masamune.

The pilgrims trail in Kamakura was a very interesting walk and in addition to visiting the giant Buddha I also saw the Zelda shrine.

Hakone had some stunning scenery and while the onsen bath I had there was very relaxing, I think the highlight would be taking a cable car over an active volcano to get to my ryokan (traditional Japanese inn).

My other stop was Morioka, and while it's not exactly a very touristy city, it was very pretty and it was very interesting to visit a Japanese city away from the tourist trail.  Also, I did get to make some reimen noodles while I was there, which was fun.

That's all for now. I hope you didn't mind hearing a little about my trip to Japan. I'd love to go back some time soon. Next week normal service should be resumed with more news from Ghostlight. Until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

A Humble End of Summer Sale 2017

Thu, 14th Sep 2017 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. We're currently hard at work on the Steam releases for both Omega Quintet and Lost Dimension, but as the title suggests, today I'm here to tell you all about another round of great savings on all our Humble store titles.  The good news is that as well as some truly fantastic savings, since this is on the Humble store not only will you be getting a Steam Key but you can now choose what to do with half of your charity contribution. You can give that 5% to the charity of your choice, or keep the equivalent value as a cashback reward, which can be spent on future purchases during or after the sale.

I’m sure you’ll want to take advantage of these amazing offers as soon as possible, so I’ll quickly run through all the Ghostlight Games that make up part of the sale. :)

Way of the Samurai 4 (regular price £18.99) has a 60% discount.

Mugen Souls (regular price £15.49 ) has a 60% discount

Agarest: Generations of War (regular price £10.99) has a 60% discount.

Agarest: Generations of War Zero (regular price £14.99) has a 60% discount.

Agarest: Generations of War 2 (regular price £14.99) has a 60% discount.

Flame Over (regular price £8.99) has a 80% discount

OMG Zombies (OMG-Z) (regular price £3.99) has an 80% discount.

I’m sure you’ll agree that those are some great deals. So, make sure you pick these brilliant games before the sale ends on the 22nd September.

In other news, which is incredibly exciting to me, but may bay be of less use to you, today is my last day before I'm away for the next 2 and a half weeks, as I'm going on holiday to Japan!

I'm going to be visiting Morioka, Sendai and then spending a few days in Tokyo, before joining a tour with Inside Japan Tours which covers Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, and Kyoto before returning to Tokyo.

As you might imagine I'm tremendously excited about finally getting to visit Japan, as I've wanted to go for many years, but have never been there before. I'm sure I'm going to be posting photos and more from my adventures in Japan on the @Ghostlight_Ross Twitter account. So if you'd like to see what I'm up to in Japan please feel free to follow me there. :)

Finally, I know many of you have been asking about Japanese audio in Omega Quintet and I believe we should have some good news for you all soon. So, please keep your eyes on the blog, for more news on that in the near future.
