Agarest: Generations of War Zero has been delayed

Hi everyone.

I’m sorry to have to tell you that, sadly, due to problems in manufacturing, we have had to delay the release of Agarest: Generations of War Zero until August.  We would like to apologise for the disappointment this will cause anyone who has pre-ordered this game and those who were looking forward to the release. All those that have pre-ordered the game directly from us have been contacted.

It’s always disappointing when a game is delayed particularly when it happens so close to the original release date.  We are aware that the date on the game’s page has not been updated yet.  This is due to absence and it will be updated early next week.

We will be updating this blog post when we have a confirmed release date for you.  If you have any comments or questions please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.   We understand that many of you will be angry and we would like to assure you that we are doing everything possible to release Agarest: Generations of War Zero as soon as we can and that we expect to release Agarest: Generations of War Zero within the next few weeks.

Ghostlight announce 'Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky'

Hi everyone,

I’m delighted to be able to announce that Ghostlight will soon be publishing a special Collector’s Edition of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky exclusively for the PSP in the PAL region.

For those not in the know, Trails in the Sky is the first game in a new trilogy of the established The Legend Of Heroes series.  The game itself is a fantastic RPG which was developed by Nihon Falcom and released in the US by XSEED earlier this year to critical acclaim (it currently has a mighty 80% metarating on Metacritic!)

As anyone who’s been following me on my Twitter will have seen, it’s also a game that I’m a massive fan of.  In fact, I enjoyed it so much during our evaluation process that I borrowed a work PSP and took it home to play.  One thing’s for sure, it’s a BIG game!  So, for those of you who like to keep track of these things, my completed save time was 54 hours 30 minutes and 29 seconds, but there were several areas I managed to miss in my first play through.  Still, now we’ve got the game it looks like I’ll get another chance to see them. :)

The highlights for me were the amazing new battle system, where managing the turn order is key to defeating the tougher enemies, and the story itself which is brilliantly written and hilarious in places (just select each treasure chest twice and you’ll see what I mean).  And that’s not to mention the fact that the game looks incredible and has an awesome soundtrack!

I’ve had a great time seeing all your guesses as to what the ‘unannounced game’ would be.  As promised, here is massive list of everyone who managed to guess which game we were doing.  As far as I’m aware, only 4 people managed to guess we were doing Trails in the Sky before I gave my clues.  So, well done to michaelius, Ladius, Shuvlarse and ShogunDarius.

Last week's clues seem to have been a bit obvious, so I’ll have to try and be a bit more fiendish next time.  It was the number of characters one that gave it away, wasn’t it?  So, here is the list of people who guessed Trails in the Sky *deep breath*:

We don’t have a release date or price for the game just yet, but stay tuned for more information on this and also to find out just what cool loot we’re going to be including in our special Collector’s Edition.  Plus, I’m hoping to have some other important news for you in the very near future.

Non-announcement Friday

Hi Everyone.  It’s Friday and that means it’s time for … um well I was going to announce the latest game we’ve signed but unfortunately a few loose ends still need to be tied up before I can announce this.  I’m very sorry, it’s almost as frustrating for me as it is for you.  I’m particularly excited about this game and I can’t tell anyone about it :(.  Well not too much anyway.

Since we mentioned we would being making an announcement I’ve seen loads of guesses and been asked lots of questions from people trying to work out which game we’re going to be announcing.  I’ve also seen at least some people who managed to guess correctly so I thought I’d run a little unofficial competition.  I’ll mention anyone who manages to guess in the announcement blog post.  If you want to guess feel free to post in the comments to this blog post or tweet at my Twitter.

Anyway since guessing games aren’t any fun if you’ve got no clues here are some things that I’ve already said along with some new clues;

1. The game is a PSP game
2. It’s also a JRPG
3. The mystery JRPG has already been released in the US
4. The game is set in the aftermath of a large war.
5. The Japanese version of the game features well over a million Japanese characters (that’s an awful lot :))

Be careful one of these clues can be misinterpreted fairly easily.  Yes I could have reworded it but I didn’t why because I’m evil :).

Anyway hopefully I’ll be back soon with the actual announcement.  Until then Happy Guessing.
