Persona 3 Portable is on the Australian Store

Fri, 4th Nov 2011 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  Unbeknown to us Sony has made Persona 3 Portable available on the Australian PlayStation Store a little earlier than planned.

Persona 3 Portable is currently available on the Australian Store for the sale price of $34.95.  You’ll have to hurry though, as the offer only lasts until the 9th of November when the game will return to its full price of $54.95.

While it took us a little by surprise here at Ghostlight we’re just glad that Australian PSP gamers can play Persona 3 Portable even sooner than expected.

And as if you didn’t know already Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky and Persona 2: Innocent Sin are both out today.  To celebrate I’ve written a piece for the Official PlayStation Blog which you can read here.  We’ve still got Persona 2 T-Shirts and Trails in the Sky posters, so if you haven’t got yours yet you can go here.

Persona 3 Portable heads down under

Thu, 3rd Nov 2011 | Posted by Ross

Hi Everyone.  There’s been a lot happening here at Ghostlight since the last blog and I’ve got a lot to share with you all.  We’re obviously all very excited about the official release of Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky tomorrow.  We’ve still got Persona 2 T-Shirts and Trails in the Sky posters left in stock, so why not order now at the above links or, if you want to get both, you can order our fantastic Trails of Innocence double pack and save £10.

Some of you may have noticed our special Monday Bonus Blog. If not I’d highly recommend that you check it out and not just because you get to read another blog that I’ve written :-).  It contains a link to a very interesting article from Joystiq entitled: “The Best JRPG you haven’t played yet”, all about Trails in the Sky.  Talking of earlier blogs, our spooky Halloween sale is still on.  Visit here to find more information.

In last week’s blog I promised some good news for our Australian fans and I’m delighted to be able to tell you that Persona 3 Portable will be released on the Australian PlayStation store on 16/11/2011 with the price to be announced shortly.

We’ve also been fielding lots of questions about the Agarest: Generations of War Zero paid DLC and I can tell you that it is currently going through the SCEE submission process.  While this may take some time (as there is lots of DLC to go through) we are hoping to be able to provide you with more news on a release date and pricing soon.

Finally, it was good to see some of you at the MCM Expo.  Hi again to Shulvarse and FF_Nash.  If you’re interested you can take a quick look at some of the loot I picked up here

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back this time next week.

Update- It has been pointed out in the comments by Garron that Persona 3 Portable is already released in Australia.  Having looked into this ourselves we can state that this is correct and we are talking to SCEE to find out why the game has gone up earlier than we expected.

Trails in the Sky: The best JRPG you haven’t played yet.

Mon, 31st Oct 2011 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  Whilst surfing the web this weekend I came across a fantastic article from Joystiq about Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky called The Best JRPG You Haven’t Played Yet.  While obviously this doesn’t apply to me - as I’ve already completed the game :) - it does manage to describe exactly how I feel about this wonderful game.

To quote from the article: “Few JRPGs blow me away nowadays. For a while, I figured this was because I am cranky and cynical. Maybe this genre just isn't for me anymore, I thought to myself. Maybe I'll never enjoy Japanese role-playing games as much as I did when I was growing up. Maybe I'll never reignite that bliss I felt when I first delved into games like Suikoden and Xenogears. Maybe I'm too old.

Then I played
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.”

As regular readers of this blog will know, while I am still in love with RPGs, both Japanese and Western, I can empathise with the tone of the article, as Trails in the Sky is the game that reminded me why I fell in love with RPGs in the first place.

I’d like to encourage everyone to go and read the full article here.
