Ghostlight announce Crash City Mayhem

Thu, 26th Jul 2012 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  I’m delighted to announce that as a few internet detectives in the comments have already deduced we will be bringing the awesome action driving game Crash City Mayhem (released as Runabout 3D: Drive Impossible by Rocket Company in Japan) to the Nintendo 3DS™ in the PAL region.

Experience high-octane driving thrills in glorious 3D as Crash City Mayhem comes speeding on to the Nintendo 3DS!  The more you destroy, the greater your rewards as you smash through city streets in a series of dangerous missions against an evil syndicate of terrorists.

Drive a huge variety of crazy vehicles including mopeds, supercars and tanks!

Drive anywhere - rooftops, sewers, inside buildings, rail tracks and more.

Unlock a stash of secret items and vehicle upgrades.

Dodge the cops in a wealth of missions including high-speed pursuits, rescuing hostages and planting bombs!

This awesome game might at first glance seem a bit of a departure from our usual games but it still has a very Japanese feel to it :)  It’s pretty crazy but great fun as well :)

Heading back to JRPGs now and I’m pleased to say that all the necessary updated metadata has been submitted to Sony and Fate/EXTRA should be appearing on the missing EU PSN stores on the 8th August.  That’s just two days before the PlayStation®3 release of the awesome Agarest: Generations of War 2, for which the Collector’s Edition is still available for pre-order here.  Once again apologies for any inconvenience this delay has caused and thank you for your patience

Finally our two PSP Sports games International Athletics and World of Pool are available as part of the Summer Sports Sale on PSN for just £3.19 saving you £2.30.  You’ll have to sprint for these ones though as the prices will be pole vaulting back to their regular price of £5.49 on the 1st August.

That’s all for now.  I hope you enjoyed reading about our latest acquisition.  I’ll be back next week, but until then you can follow Ghostlight on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight. You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

JRPGs on PC

Thu, 19th Jul 2012 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  Thanks for all your feedback on last week’s blog about bringing console JRPGs to PC.  I was very excited to see just how popular the idea was with the vast majority of you :)  While we have already been talking to a few of our contacts in Japan, it’s still going to take a little while to get the wheels in motion but I’ll make sure to keep informed with any updates as soon as I hear anything.  One thing I can say is that the level of interest that you have all shown has really helped to push the process along that little bit quicker.

While our original plan was for the PC games to be released digitally, after reading the huge amount of feedback from you all, we’re now looking into the added possibility of offering a limited number of physical collector’s editions as well.  Where possible, we may also (for gamers who prefer to get their PC games digitally) offer the collector’s edition items separately from the game.

We’re still very interested in hearing your thoughts on the games you’d like us to look in to as well as your continued thoughts on PC ports in general. We do already have one or two particular target products in mind, and if they work out then we’d definitely be interested in bringing more products to the PC platform.

Moving back towards consoles now, I can tell you that Agarest: Generations of War 2 is still currently in manufacture at the moment.  As soon as the stock hits our warehouse, I’ll put up some photos on the blog so that those of you who’ve already ordered it will be able to see just what you’ll be getting.  And if you haven’t joined that happy band of people then you can head over here to pre-order your copy.

Finally I would like to assure all of you who are still awaiting the appearance of Fate/EXTRA on their local PSN store that we are pulling out all the stops to fix the issue with the metadata that has caused the hold ups.  It won’t be long now…

One thing that has come up from this is that a few of you have commented on the quality of translations for the Metadata of some of our games.  I was thinking that it would be really helpful if you could let us know if you notice any mistakes in our metadata and we’ll do our best to put them right.  So, if you’re interested in helping us out in any way, please let me know.

That’s all for now.  I’ll be back next week, but until then you can follow Ghostlight on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight. Fate/EXTRA out now on PSN

Thu, 12th Jul 2012 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. This week’s big news is that the awesome Fate/EXTRA is out now on PSN for just £23.99 (€29.99) with a 1.3GB download.  I’m delighted to say that it’s also available on the Vita store for those of you who want it on the latest Sony handheld.

Fate/EXTRA has been getting some awesome reviews from the press, including an 85% from GameCritics and this 8/10 review from Gamingbolt.com: “Overall, if you have even the slightest interest in animé or JRPGs, you owe it to yourself to play Fate Extra.”

Those of you who are still on the fence about this fantastic game might want to take a quick look here at an earlier blog of mine where I talk about my experiences and enjoyment playing Fate/EXTRA.  As you may have already worked out, I’m a huge fan of this game. :)

Unfortunately we are aware that Fate/EXTRA is not yet available on the Belgian, Danish, Finnish, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Swedish & Ukrainian PSN Stores.  I would like to apologise to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this and assure you that we are working as fast as we can to resolve this issue.  I’m hopeful that the game will be available on these stores in the next week.

Talking about PSN releases I can today reveal that we will be bringing Agarest: Generations of War Zero to PSN this summer.  We’re currently hard at work making the necessary preparations so don’t be surprised to see this fantastic game on a PSN store near you shortly :).   Not only that but I believe one of our other Agarest titles may be in the works for a PSN release a little further down the line too..

On the subject of Agarest we’ve been talking to the wonderful people over at MYM magazine about granting you an exclusive look at Agarest: Generations of War 2 in their August issue featuring lots of exclusive screenshots, some great character art and even an interview with the Japanese development team.  You definitely won’t want to miss this :).

Finally, I’ve recently heard talk around the office of bringing some console JRPGs to the PC to allow more people to enjoy the style of gaming we all love. Would this be something you would be interested in?  I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.

Anyway, that’s all for now.
