Agarest is out today

Thu, 3rd Oct 2013 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  I’m happy to say that your wait is nearly at an end:  Agarest: Generations of War will be released on Steam in just a few hours.  Unless, of course, it’s already past 6pm GMT when you read this, in which case the game is already out - surprise!  Our thanks have to go out again to everyone who has supported our cause by already ordering the game and in fact we managed to sneak in to the very top spot on Steam’s Top Sellers!

In the last couple of days I’ve been very busy organising the marketing materials to send out ahead of Agarest’s release.  Perhaps unsurprisingly, I’ve had lots of Press interest, more than I usually get. It’s nice to be popular :)  Hopefully the reviewers will love the game and appreciate all the hard work we’ve put into this conversion.  No doubt you’ll be seeing their comments over the next few days so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

Even if you’re still on the fence and waiting for those reviews to come in, I can tell you that Agarest will continue to be made available with a 20% discount for the next week.  But you only have until the end of the pre-order period to make sure you also receive the selection of extra paid DLC absolutely free.  So why not go and pre-order the game here?

Speaking of DLC, there’s been a slight change of plans. Rather than offering the free DLC for download separately over the coming weeks, it will now be bundled into the game from the outset.  That means that when you buy the game, all of the following items of DLC will be included:

  • Basic Pack - Contains 1 each of Resurrect, Capture, and Resist Direction, 2 each of Heal and Refresh, and 5 Vessels of Life.
  • Offense-Defense Pack- Contains 1 Adaka, 1 Shield Sword, 1 Bird Eye, 1 Magic Frame, 1 Critical Hit, and 2 Seeds of Happiness.
  • Additional-Points Pack 1 - Contains 10,000G, 100PP, 250TP, and 500EP.
  • Recovery-Skill Pack - Contains 2 Light Heals, 2 Harvest Heals, and 2 Cure Alls, as well as 1 Prayer, 1 Gospel, and 1 Counter.
  • Flower Pack - Contains 1 Lucky Charm, 1 HP Up, 1 Resist Ailments, 1 Restore HP 15%, and 1 Restore AP++, as well as 2 Moonlight Flowers, and 3 Tree Spirit Souls.
  • General-Purpose Pack - Contains 1 Magic Blade, 1 Partisan, 1 Battle Frame, 1 Bracelet of Feicui, and 1 Item Drop Rate Up, as well as 2 Shiny Fangs, and 2 Advanced Heals.
  • Add-on Dungeon 1 - An add-on dungeon for generation 1. An uncharted adventure awaits you on the Holy Island of Erin!
  • Add-on Dungeon 2 - An add-on dungeon for generation 2. A new frontier waits to be explored along the Trum Coast!
  • Add-on Dungeon 3 - An add-on dungeon for generation 3. It's time to reunite with old friends at Magna Val!
  • Add-on Dungeon 4 - An add-on dungeon for generation 4. Embark on an exciting journey to the mysterious Tresor Island!
  • Add-on Dungeon 5 - An add-on dungeon for generation 5. Embark on one last adventure into the Deep Forest Naruvia!

Remember, if you’re a hardy adventurer and prefer not use any particular items of DLC, the PC version offers the option to disable DLC when starting a new game.  If (like me) you do like a helping hand from time to time, more DLC will be made available in the weeks following release so be sure to keep your eyes on the store for updates.

Moving on to Devil Survivor 2 and I don’t really have much to add to last week’s post.  Unusually, this actually makes me quite happy as we’re at a point where no news is good news :) In case you’ve missed the last couple of blogs I’ll just remind you by saying that our stock will be dispatched to us on 11th October and we’ll start sending your copies out to you from the 15th October.

And before I go, I can confirm that we’ll be running a Ghostlight Autumn Sale with solid discounts on selected items, so be sure to check back to the store in the next few days for some bargains.

I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

Autumn is here and so are Agarest and Devil Survivor 2…almost!

Thu, 26th Sep 2013 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to the Ghostlight blog. We’re now one week from the release of Agarest: Generations of War on Steam and so far it’s all going very well indeed.  I have to say that it’s certainly been an interesting experience seeing all the comments and general interest the Steam community has in this game.  While Agarest is, at the time of writing, sitting nicely at number 12 in the Steam ‘Top Sellers’ chart, we’ve spent much of the past week enjoying the dizzy heights of the top 10…  not that I’ve been constantly refreshing the Steam chart or anything. ;)

If you haven’t gotten around to picking up this great SRPG yet, then you can pre-order it on Steam here with a 20% discount and also receive some free DLC.

Moving on to your weekly update on Devil Survivor 2 now and the good news is, that there is no news :) which means nothing has changed since last week.  So, we’re still expecting Devil Survivor 2 to be dispatched to us on the 11th October and we’ll begin sending your orders out to you all from the 15th October.  We’re still accepting pre-orders for Devil Survivor 2 so while you won’t get your name in the manual you will receive the fantastic “Gold Edition” if you pre-order the game from the Ghostlight store, here.

I just wanted to wrap up the blog by saying firstly that we’ve taken one big step towards being able to announce one of our new upcoming titles (by the way, please keep sending us your suggestions for new titles as your input is really helpful).  Secondly, that I’ve heard rumours that a Ghostlight Autumn Sale is in the pipeline so keep an eye on our site for news of bargain prices on some of our older titles next week.

I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

Agarest: Generations Of War hits #2 on Steam Top Sellers!

Thu, 19th Sep 2013 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone – I hope your week is going as well as ours :)  As you may have seen, Agarest pre-orders launched on Steam earlier this week and the reaction has been just incredible.  At one point we were in the number 2 spot on the Steam top sellers list, ahead of Godus and Saints Row IV!  Unfortunately I was asleep at that point but I did manage to capture this image slightly earlier.

At the time of writing we’re still sitting pretty in 4th spot (does this mean we qualify for the Champions League?)  So, a huge thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered the game or just helped spread the word.  This has been incredible!  If you haven’t pre-ordered your copy of Agarest: Generations of War yet (currently available for just £11.99 including a 20% discount and a selection of free DLC) then you can do so here.

In related news, after listening to your comments regarding Agarest’s minimum PC specification, in particular the required processor, we’ve been running tests on some of our much older PCs owned by the staff here.  I’m pleased to report that the game actually runs really smoothly on a Core 2 Duo, so while the new minimum requirements have yet to be finalised and amended on Steam, it does look like we will be able to bump the specification down somewhat.  This is great news for anyone with a slightly older system :)

Moving on to our weekly update on Devil Survivor 2 now and I’m pleased to report that following the recent approval of all the revised printed materials (including the manual featuring all of your names), the manufacture of Devil Survivor 2 is now well and truly underway.  Nintendo have also informed us that the provisional dispatch date for our stock is 11th October.  This means that we should expect delivery within a couple of days of this date and from there we’ll be working as fast as we can to get your copies shipped out to you all.  I should stress that this date is only provisional at the moment and may change between now and release but I’ll make sure that I keep you all notified if that should happen.

I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.
